The 2018 Qingdao International Ceramic Art Exhibition will be held in the coastal city from September 21 to 28. Featuring fashion, originality and professionalism, the exhibition provides an international and professional interactive platform of cultural exchange and development for Qingdao.
The event is jointly sponsored by International Academy of Ceramics of the UNESCO, Qingdao Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication Bureau, Qingdao City Administration and Landscaping Bureau and Shinan District.
Four theme activities, international ceramic art exposition, interaction with masters, keynote academic forums and parallel forums will be held to present a visual art feast for citizens and ceramic art fans.
More than 20 top international ceramic artists from over 10 countries and regions including China, the US, France and Japan are attending the event. Around one hundred pieces of modern and contemporary ceramic art works of different shapes, and made with different concepts and production techniques are on display to showcase the different understanding and experience of the ceramic art between the Eastern and Western artists.
China is an ancient country of ceramic civilization. The Chinese ceramic culture has been widely spread all over the world. In the new era, the Belt and Road Initiative brings new opportunities for the revival and development of the ceramic industry. Qingdao, as an important node city of the Belt and Road Initiative and the host city of the 2018 SCO summit, aims to attract more international art institutions and artists and carry out a series of culture exchanges to further promote its internationalization.
