On June 17, the Information Office of Shandong Provincial Government held a press conference to brief on the measures and achievements of Shandong's rural revitalization. According to Li Xixin, director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy has further unleashed the enthusiasm and creativity of farmers, and has profoundly changed the mode of production in agriculture and in rural areas in various ways:
The circulation of rural land has accelerated markedly. By the end of 2019, the area of land circulation in the province was 38.904 million mu (about 2,593.6 million ha.), the land circulation rate reaching 42.3%.
The socialized service system of agriculture has been continuously improved. In 2019, the hosting services of agricultural production in the province covered 146 million mu (about 9.73 million ha.) of land. Experts have calculated, based on current area of land circulation and of production hosting, that the rate of large-scale land management in Shandong has exceeded 60%.
The level of agricultural mechanization has been greatly improved, and the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvest in the province has exceeded 86%.
The supporting capacity of agricultural science and technology continues to increase. In 2019, the contribution rate of agricultural science and technology progress in the province reached 64.56%, which is more than 5 percentage points higher than the national level.
The subjects of new-type agricultural management have kept expanding. There are more than 9,600 leading agricultural enterprises in the province, 73,000 family farms, and 210,000 farmer cooperatives.
