The Thai Investment Environment Online Seminar (Weihai, Qingdao and Jining) was held on July 8, 2020. More than 60 people, from Beijing Office of Thailand Board of Investment, CCPIT Shandong Sub-council, CCPIT Weihai Sub-council, CCPIT Jining Sub-council, and export-oriented enterprises of Weihai, Qingdao and Jining, attended the meeting.
Zhong Baofen, minister-counsellor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in China briefed on the investment incentive policies of Thailand, demonstrated the investment environment of The Eastern Economic Corridor of Thailand and corresponding supporting services, and presented the development of Chinese enterprises investing in Thailand through cases. Through online interaction, enterprises got a deeper understanding of the business environment in Thailand.
Zhao Di, a representative of Thailand’s WHA Industrial Park in China, introduced the basic information of WHA Industrial Park and reminded the matters needing attention when foreign trade enterprises “going global”, from his own experience in attracting investment. Especially in the post-epidemic era, enterprises should deepen the thinking of industrial layout, and treat the options of “going global” rationally from both the macro and micro levels.
Six enterprises in Shandong participated in the one-on-one meeting with the Beijing Office of Thailand Board of Investment and had in-depth exchange of investment business with senior Thai officials.
After the meeting, enterprises said that they got a preliminary understanding of Thailand's investment policy and the development of Chinese enterprises in Thailand, and were inspired for the future industrial layout of enterprises. In the future, they will keep close contact with relevant departments and grasp the opportunity to go global.
