On July 30th, the theme seminar of "Dialogue with Shandong - Japan & Shandong Industrial Cooperation Exchange Meeting" was simultaneously held in Jinan, Tokyo and Osaka, marking the official launch of the “Dialogue with Shandong” series activity.
Liu Jiayi, Secretary of the provincial Party committee, attended the seminar and held talks via a video link with Sasaki Nobuhiko, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization. Li Ganjie, Governor of Shandong Province, delivered a speech. Yang Dongqi, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party committee hosted the seminar.
The “Dialogue with Shandong” series activity has gained great attention and support from celebrities from all walks of life in Japan. Nikai Tosihiro, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, Hatoyama yukio, former Prime Minister of Japan, Makihara Hideki, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Yokoi Yutaka, Japanese Ambassador to China, Suzuki Naomichi, Governor of Hokkaido, and Matsushita Masayuki, Vice President of the Kansai Economic Federation sent their congratulations to the activity through a video message.
Kong Xuanyou, Chinese Ambassador to Japan, delivered a speech online from Tokyo; Gao Yan, President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, from Beijing; and Nisaka Yoshinobu, Governor of Wakayama Prefecture, He Zhenliang, Chinese Consul General in Osaka, and Imai Yutaka, President of Japan-China Friendship Council in the Osaka Prefectural Assembly, from the venue in Osaka.
The seminar also included policy interpretation, city promotion and enterprise promotion; 17 projects were signed on-site. Leaders of Shandong Province including Sun Licheng, Wang Qingxian, Liu Qiang and Ren Airong, Igawahara Masaru, Japanese Consul General in Qingdao, officials from relevant provincial departments and business representatives attended the seminar at the venue in Jinan. Branch venues were set up in the 16 cities of Shandong.
The “Dialogue with Shandong” series activity is co-hosted by Shandong Provincial People's Government, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Japan External Trade Organization. It consists of three major sections, namely the theme seminar, industrial exchange meetings, and China-Japan city cooperation and exchange meetings, which wiil be conducted through a combination of online and offline channels. The series activity will last until September 30.
