According to Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, for the sake of the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin, Shandong recently issued a special bonds quota of 12 billion yuan to support the construction of the agricultural water-saving project in the Yellow River irrigated area. The project is receiving a total investment of 21.2 billion yuan and involves 63 sub-projects in 48 counties (or county-level cities, districts) of 9 cities along the Yellow River. The construction is planned to start in September, and an investment of more than 17 billion yuan is expected to be completed by the end of the year, of which 3.4 billion yuan will be allocated as capital for the water-saving project to attract social capital to join the investment and construction, and to speed up the strengthening of Shandong's weak link in water infrastructure.
