On the afternoon of Nov. 18, Shandong Provincial People’s Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group). Liu Jiayi, secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, met with the delegation of Sinopec Group. Li Ganjie, governor of Shandong province, attended the signing ceremony.
Liu Jiayi extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He said that Sinopec Group has maintained close cooperative relations with Shandong province for a long time and made positive contributions to Shandong’s economic and social development. “Looking forward to the 14th Five-year Plan, Shandong faces a rare opportunity for development,” said Liu Jiayi, “We hope Sinopec Group will continue to support Shandong’s development, strengthen cooperation with Shandong on major projects, make contributions to Shandong’s optimization of energy structure and industrial transformation and upgrading, then to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.”
Zhang Yuzhuo, chairman of Sinopec Group, thanked Shandong’s Party committees and governments at all levels for their support and assistance to the company over the years. He said that Shandong has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development in recent years, especially in the transformation of old and new development driving forces. “We are very optimistic about the development prospects of Shandong. I hope both sides will step up cooperation to inject new momentum into Shandong’s shifting from old development driving forces to the new,” he added.
According to the agreement signed, the two sides will set up a regular high-level meeting mechanism to deepen cooperation in oil and gas exploration and development, large-scale refining and chemical industry, high-end chemical industry, sales of refined oil products, oil and gas pipeline network, and clean energy.
