On the morning of February 19, the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People’ s Government held the first session of the series of press conferences on the theme of “Looking forward to the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’”. According to Guan Zhaoquan, deputy director and spokesperson of Shandong Development and Reform Commission, at present, the construction of the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway project is in full swing and progressing smoothly overall.
The Puyang-Jinan section of Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway is an important connection line project in China’s medium- and long-term plan of railway network, as well as a fast railway channel closely connecting Shandong Peninsula city cluster and the Central Plains city cluster. Shandong will make great efforts to ensure that the project is completed as soon as possible in the “14th Five-Year Plan” period (2021-2025).
The section is about 208 kilometers long, with a total investment of about 40 billion yuan. The part of the section in Shandong province is about 170 kilometers in length, accounting for 82% of the total; with an investment of 34.8 billion yuan, it accounts for 87% of the total investment.
As of the end of January this year, 8.7 billion yuan of investment, or a quarter of the total investment, has been completed in the Shandong section. 95% of land acquisition, demolition and relocation, 51% of the moving and modification of electricity, communication, and radio and television lines, 10% of roadbed construction, and 36% of bridge construction have been completed. The construction of the section in Shandong province is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
